Organizing Committee of the 22nd International Congress of Endocrinology and the 99th Annual Congress of the Japan Endocrine Society (ICE/JES 2026) cordially invites you to participate in the 2026 International Congress and submit your abstracts for poster and/or oral presentations for the congress held in Kyoto in 2026.

Please create your account and complete your registration on My Page before proceeding with your abstract submission. Your payment of the participation fees must be complete before submitting your abstract.

Abstract Submissions Timeline

Deadline for Abstract Submission: December 15, 2025, 23:59 (Japan Time)

Abstract categories

First, choose the type of session you intend to participate in.

Then, select the type of your presentation.

Type 1: Scientific Research Abstract

Type 2: Clinical Case

Type 3: Nurse Research Abstract

Then, select the abstract topic as per the following list:

  • Adrenal
  • Bone / Calcium
  • DM / Obesity
  • Neuroendocrinology
  • Pediatric
  • Reproduction
  • Thyroid
  • Other

Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.

Rules for submission

Abstracts must be submitted online via the website only. We won’t accept abstracts submitted by email.

Please be aware that abstracts received after the submission deadline will not be considered.

The Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for presentation, with consideration given to the author’s preference.

All abstracts’ presenting authors will be notified about the result of the review (selected or not selected) via email.

Presentation Format

  • If you are not an invited speaker, please submit your abstract as a poster presentation.
  • The presentation will be in English.

The Knockout (KO) rounds in clinical endocrinology

  • The KO rounds are a case presentation competition for endocrine and metabolic disorders, designed to foster and encourage young clinical endocrinologists.
  • The KO rounds will be held in the afternoon on June 4th, Day 3 of ICE2026.
  • Eligibility is limited to physicians aged 40 or under (as of the end of May 2026) or JES or ISE members within 15 years of graduating medical school.
  • Applications for the KO rounds should be submitted in the same manner as regular abstracts. Applicants must indicate their intention to apply for the KO rounds upon registration by selecting “KO Rounds” in “Type of Session”.

Presentation Format

  • Presentation Language: English (including slides and oral presentation)
  • Presentation Time: 3 minutes (strictly timed)
  • No Q&A session
  • After the presentation, the judges will give a 1-to-2-minute critique.
  • Required Materials: One title slide (containing specified content) + one presentation slide.
  • *Presentation slides: No videos. Animations must be completed within 5 clicks; overlapping animations are not permitted (regardless of animation use, ensure the information fits within a single slide).
  • Failure to comply with these conditions will result in point deductions during the review process.

Review procedure

Presentations will be scored out of a total of 10 points, and the total score will determine rankings.

The scoring criteria are as follows:

  • ①Presentation skills (4 points max) (presentation time, clarity, etc.)
  • ②Message effectiveness per slide (3 points max)
  • ③Slide design and creativity (3 points max)

Awards

The winner and runners-up will be awarded based on the judging results.

Limitations

  • The person who submits an abstract is considered as the presenting author.
  • Only participants who completed their registration and paid for their registration fees are allowed to submit an abstract.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting it.
  • Previously Presented/Published Policy: The acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts will be determined by the Abstract Selection Committee.
    Whether an abstract identical to one already presented at an overseas conference, or an abstract reporting clinical trial results that have already been published as an English-language paper in an international journal, may be presented will be subject to the decision of the Abstract Selection Committee.
  • All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling, suitable for publication.
  • Abstract submitters will be required to disclose any conflict of interest in the submission form.
  • *Authors transfer copyright to the congress on submission.
  • *Authors are allowed to reproduce content from their submitted/accepted abstracts at a local national meeting in the immediate 6 months prior to the congress.

Cancellation Policy

In the case your abstract is not accepted, you will be eligible for a refund of your registration fee. Non-acceptance of an abstract is the only reason a refund request will be honored.

    What is the character limit for abstracts?
    A.
    The abstract title is limited to 150 characters (excluding spaces), and the abstract text is limited to 1,600 characters (excluding spaces).
  • Q.
    What type of session should I select when submitting my abstract?
    A.
    “Plenary,” “Symposium,” and “Meet the Professors” sessions are reserved for invited speakers. If you are not an invited speaker, please select “Poster Presentation.”
    If you plan to present in Japanese and meet the eligibility criteria, you may also apply for the JES YIA oral presentation.
  • Q.
    Can I submit an abstract that has already been presented at another congress?
    A.
    Yes. Abstracts previously presented at another congress or published in an international journal may be submitted. Please note, however, that acceptance is at the discretion of the Abstract Selection Committee.
  • Q.
    What should I upload under “Graphics/Tables” in the abstract submission system?
    A.
    Please upload any figures or tables that are referenced within your abstract (e.g., Fig. 1, Fig. 2).
