Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure

To All Presenters

At the 15th Asia-Pacific Primary Liver Cancer Expert Meeting (APPLE 2025), the lead presenter of each abstract is required to disclose any relevant conflicts of interest (COI).

We kindly ask you to refer to the disclosure examples provided below and include the appropriate COI information in your presentation materials.

COI Self-Disclosure Criteria

Presenters are required to disclose any conflicts of interest (COI) if they meet or exceed the following thresholds. The disclosure should be based on financial relationships with companies, organizations, or for-profit entities involved in medical research.

  • Executive or Advisory Roles
    If you serve as an officer, board member, or advisor for a company or organization and receive annual compensation of 1,000,000 JPY or more from a single entity.
  • Stock Ownership
    If you hold stocks and receive annual income (dividends or capital gains) of 1,000,000 JPY or more, or if you own 5% or more of the total shares of a single company.
  • Patent Royalties
    If you receive royalties of 1,000,000 JPY or more per year from a company or organization for a single patent.
  • Honoraria (e.g., for Speaking at Meetings)
    If you receive honoraria totaling 1,000,000 JPY or more annually from a single entity for participation in meetings, presentations, or related activities.
  • Manuscript Fees
    If you receive 1,000,000 JPY or more annually from a single organization as compensation for writing or editorial work, such as in pamphlets or publications.
  • Research Funding
    If you receive research funding totaling 2,000,000 JPY or more annually from a single company or organization (including clinical research contracts, joint research funds, or consigned accounting funds).
  • Endowed Chair Positions
    If you belong to a department or position funded by an endowment from a company or organization.
  • Other Compensation (Unrelated to Research/Education/Clinical Work)
    If you receive 5,0000 JPY or more annually in the form of travel support, gifts, or other benefits from a single entity.

Please include disclosures for yourself and your immediate family (spouse, children, parents) where applicable.

How to Disclose COI

  • During your presentation, please display a COI disclosure slide:
    • For oral presentations, include it as the first slide or immediately following the title slide.
    • For poster presentations, include it as the last section of your poster.
  • Even if you have no relevant COI to disclose, please show a slide or note stating “No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.”
