Call for Presenters Period: January 28, 2026 - March 18, 2026

As part of the general call for presentations at the conference, presenters are invited to apply for the following conference programs.

JSME FRINGE

JSME FRINGE is a workshop dedicated to communication, creativity, and diversity, held as an official conference program at the 58th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Medical Education, to be held in Toyama.
This workshop aims to provide a platform for innovative and diverse perspectives, encouraging open dialogue and creative approaches to medical education. Presentations should minimize reliance on PowerPoint with past presentations including live demonstration of a Vtuber avatar, Manga, artworks, cinema and improvisational theatre to discuss topical issues in health professions education.

Eligibility

Applications are welcomed from:

  • Students
  • Groups
  • Early-career researchers

Presentation Content

  • Topics related to communication, creativity, and diversity
  • Presentations that explicitly embrace these keywords will be prioritized

Presentation Format and Time

  • Presentation: up to 10 minutes
  • Questions and Answers: 3–4 minutes

Selection Process

  • Presentations will be selected by the JSME Internationalization Committee.
  • Priority will be given to presentations aligned with the key themes of the workshop.

Language

  • Presentations and discussions may be conducted in English or Japanese.

Sharing Our Learning

Overview

At the 58th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Medical Education, to be held in Toyama on August ◯, 2026, we are organizing a symposium titled “Sharing Our Learning.

This symposium aims to highlight the voices of learners—young healthcare professionals who receive clinical instruction.

We are currently inviting applications from young presenters.

Purpose

In this symposium, young healthcare professionals—including medical students, residents, fellows, and early-career professionals from various disciplines—will share what they have learned through their daily clinical practice.

We do not seek polished educational programs or outstanding achievements. Rather, we encourage presenters to articulate:

  • What they learned through their experiences
  • What those learning experiences mean to them personally

Eligibility

  • Medical students
  • Residents
  • Fellows
  • Other young healthcare professionals engaged in clinical practice
  • Young professionals from various healthcare disciplines
  • While there is no strict definition of “young professionals,” applicants with five years or less of professional experience are generally expected.

Presentation Format・Time

  • Symposium format
  • All presentations will follow a shared presentation format
  • The structure is designed to facilitate meaningful dialogue from a common perspective
  • Presentation: up to 10 minutes (Including Questions and Answers)

Language

  • Presentations may be delivered in English or Japanese.

Application Unit

  • Applications are accepted from individuals only.

Selection Process

  • If applications exceed capacity, a selection process will be conducted.
  • Applications that do not align with the purpose of this symposium (e.g., product promotion) may be excluded.

Aim of the Symposium

  • By sharing individual learning experiences, this symposium aims to contribute to improving the quality of clinical education and to support the professional growth of young healthcare professionals.
