Professor of the department of Pathology and Tumor Biology, Kyoto University
We are pleased to announce that The 85th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association will be held over three days, from Thursday, September 24 to Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto City. The Japanese Cancer Association comprises approximately 14,000 researchers, physicians, and healthcare professionals from universities, research institutions, medical facilities, and corporations. The association is dedicated to advancing cancer research by promoting the integration of basic and clinical studies.
The theme of the 85th Annual Meeting is “Intellectual challenges: Toward Conquering Cancer”. In addressing cancer, a disease yet to be fully overcome, we aim to bring together expertise from diverse fields, including basic research, clinical medicine, and social sciences, to deepen our understanding of cancer pathology and to foster the development of new therapeutic approaches.
This meeting will invite leading researchers and clinicians from both Japan and abroad, providing a valuable platform to share the latest findings and technologies. To encourage active international exchange, we plan to incorporate technological innovations and design a program with a variety of engaging features. Special emphasis will be placed on nurturing the next generation of young researchers, fostering dynamic discussions with experienced experts, and promoting the “fusion of knowledge” across disciplines. We hope this will serve as an opportunity to cultivate future leaders in cancer research. Additionally, the program will include compelling symposia and educational lectures on cutting-edge analytical techniques using advanced instrumentation, designed to be both practical and inspiring for young attendees.
We aim to create a meaningful and fruitful conference experience that will leave all participants with a strong sense of fulfillment. We warmly welcome and look forward to the active participation of many attendees at the 85th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association in Kyoto.
