Greeting from the President
Kohei HANAOKA, Ph. D.
(KINDAI University Hospital)

It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings to all members of the Japan Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology. I am deeply honored to serve as the President of the 46th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society.
The meeting will be held jointly with the 66th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine, chaired by Professor Kazunari Ishii, at “Acrie Himeji” in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, from November 19 (Thursday) to 21 (Saturday), 2026. The theme of this year’s meeting is “The Glorious Way of Nuclear Medicine.”
In Japanese culture, the word “Dō” (道) signifies more than just the acquisition of techniques or knowledge—it represents a lifelong path of discipline, refinement, and spirit. Just as Chadō (the Way of Tea) or Kendō (the Way of the Sword) embodies the pursuit of mastery through the cultivation of mind and skill, the “Way of Nuclear Medicine” symbolizes the spiritual and scientific journey built upon the dedication, passion, and curiosity of our predecessors.
Nuclear medicine is the art and science of illuminating the unseen—of understanding radiation, exploring the truth of disease, and safeguarding human life. Today, our field continues to evolve from diagnosis to therapy, advancing toward personalized medicine and integration with artificial intelligence. As nuclear medicine technologists, we stand at the forefront of this transformation, carrying both the responsibility and pride of shaping its future.
This meeting aims not only to share cutting-edge academic knowledge but also to provide practical insights that can be directly applied to our daily clinical practice. We hope it will be a truly fruitful opportunity for every participant to learn, connect, and envision the bright future ahead.
Although I am aware of my own limitations, I am working closely with the organizing committee to ensure a meaningful and inspiring conference. I sincerely ask for your warm support and active participation in making this event a success.
