Dear all colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to introduce the 7th ISMRM-Japan Chapter (JPC) Annual Scientific Meeting. ISMRM is the world's premier society of cutting-edge researchers related to MRI medicine, and ISMRM's international conferences allow us to connect with other researchers all over the world. Although there is a great deal of excellent and unique MRI research being conducted in Japan, the presence of Japanese MRI researchers at ISMRM and in the international scent seem to be insufficient. In order to overcome this challenge, the ISMRM-JPC was founded in 2016. The purpose of the foundation is to increase the power of community among ISMRM members in Japan and to encourage young MRI researchers to join and apply papers at ISMRM congress. JPC meetings are held annually for the purpose of active discussion, interaction among young researchers, and increase their presence at ISMRM meeting.

This year's JPC meeting will be held at the Nagoya Congress Center on September 10-11, and will be attended by researchers from various fields including neuroscience, physical engineering, and informatics, as well as leading MRI-related researchers and medical professionals. The 50th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Magnetic Resonance Medicine is scheduled to be held at the same venue during the same period, and we expect synergy effects with MRI research in the medical field.

We hope that this 7th ISMRM- JPC meeting will provide a forum for active exchange and discussion, especially for young researchers, leading to the pursuit of new technologies and findings originating from Japan.
