Phuping Akavipat, M.D., FRCAT, Ph.D.

Phuping Akavipat is a director of the Anesthesiology Department, Prasat Neurological Institute, Bangkok, Thailand. He was given the honorary neuro-anesthesia subspecialty board from the Royal College of Anesthesiologists of Thailand in 2005. Besides the assorted certifications in continuing medical education program received, he graduated Master of Science in Health Development (Clinical epidemiology) in 2008 and completed his Doctoral Degree in Biostatistics and clinical epidemiology in 2016. He has been working professionally since 1995 in anesthesia related tasks, i.e. services, researches, technology transfer and post graduated educational program. He is also the pioneer of Thai Society of Neuro-anesthesia (TSNA) establishment and currently he is a secretary general of this society as well as the secretary general of the Royal College of Anesthesiologists of Thailand. For more than 50 articles issued, the diversity of neuro-anesthesia technique, neuro-intensive care management, intraoperative neuro-monitoring and the safety in anesthesia are of his interests, e.g. The Perioperative Anesthetic Adverse Events in Thailand (PAAD THAI) study; the recent multicenter study from national based data (333,219 cases) especially the incidence in neuro-anesthesia, The mortality prediction in neuro-intensive care unit, Alternative placement of Bispectral index electrode for depth of anesthesia monitoring and The appropriate propofol effect-site concentration by Schnider model in neurosurgery adjusted by Bispectral index, etc.
