About COI

At all of the sessions of the 9th Congress of the Japanese Society of Mood Disorders, please be sure to show slides (or posters) related to the stipulated COI when making presentations. Oral explanations are not necessary at the time of presentation. Please read the information below about downloading the stipulated slides and how to use them.

(3)Criteria for COI applicability (From the “Japanese Society of Mood Disorders’ COI Guidelines”)

  • Things that require disclosure are those within the one-year period from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011.
  • For each of the items that should be disclosed, the amounts of money that require self-reporting are stipulated as follows.
  • In the event that any of the following items 1 through 9 is applicable, they are to be deemed “applicable” and the relevant company name and the relevant people’s names are to be indicated.
    • Compensation for board members, etc., stock, or income from patent rights: JPY 1,000,000 or more
    • Remuneration for meetings, lecture fees, or manuscript fees, etc.: JPY 500,000 or more
    • Research expenses or scholarships: JPY 2,000,000 or more
    • Endowed course: Whether or not it exists; no criteria for monetary amount
    • Travel expenses or gifts unrelated to provision of labor or knowledge: JPY 50,000 or more
    • Travel or accommodation expenses in relation to attending an academic conference: JPY 50,000 or more
    • In the event that you know of a state of conflict of interest the same as the above for a spouse, a first-degree family member, or a person with whom you share income or assets, you must report it.
    • Groups providing interest are not limited to profit-making businesses; they also include foundations, etc.
    • For people presenting lectures or dissertations (for lectures, only the head presenter), items related to the presentation content
