The number of patients with cardiovascular diseases in Japan is rapidly growing due to westernization of lifestyle and the super-aging population, and the role of the Japanese Circulation Society (JCS) is becoming increasingly important. In 2016, JCS has developed “The Five-Year Plan for Overcoming Cerebral/Cardiovascular Disease” aiming to extend healthy life expectancy. One of the five strategies which this five-year plan addresses is the “strengthening of clinical research,” as we believe it is essential to understand the disease mechanism and develop a treatment method on the basis of the cause.
In hopes of stimulating basic cardiovascular research in Japan, JCS will host the 1st JCS Council Forum on Basic CardioVascular Research on the 6th–7th January 2018, in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
On the day, we will have invited lectures by about 10 well-known speakers, including speakers from overseas, as well as lectures for supporting basic research, award lectures and poster presentations. We are also planning a social gathering for all participants on the first night of the forum.
We sincerely look forward to your participation and abstract submission.
